The 125m 7Cs super yacht was created in-house by Drive, a leading company in Marine and Automotive design. Drive’s designers were keen to challenge the traditional proportions of a superyacht and create a vessel that borrowed tried and tested ideas from the automotive industry. This concept yacht has a sunken pool, helipad, retractable cover, Jacuzzi and a boatload of luxury for the interiors. Drive envisages a unique hull with the reverse bow, and has tried to approximate a cruising speed of 20 + knots. This fit for a Russian oil magnate superyacht is concept only for now as the designers seek out an investor.

Luxury watch brand Industrial North Design recently released two new distinctive, modern watches based on the automotive background of the company’s founders, Andy Shaw and Robert Silkstone. Watch designs of Industrial North Design, take inspiration from the world of automotives, as well as a combination of natural world influences such as the Fibonacci sequence, Geodesic domes and the construction of the beehive, which is seen as a symbol of industry. The intensive manufacture techniques such as spark erosion and wire-EDM machining combined with laser engraving and CNC turning mean that their products have a dimensional accuracy of 0.02mm. These exclusive luxury watches have been priced at a staggering $8280 a piece and the company has decided to manufacture only 15 units for each design.
